Advanced Streaming Settings
Optimize your stream quality and performance with these technical settings
Video Settings
Resolution
Resolution determines the dimensions of your video stream. Higher resolution means better quality but requires more bandwidth.
Preset | Dimensions | Best For |
---|---|---|
720p (HD) | 1280×720 | Standard streaming, good balance of quality and performance |
1080p (Full HD) | 1920×1080 | High-quality streams with good internet connection |
480p (SD) | 854×480 | Low bandwidth situations or mobile streaming |
Frame Rate
Frame rate is the number of frames per second (FPS) in your stream. Higher frame rates result in smoother motion.
- 30 FPS: Standard for most content, good balance of quality and performance
- 60 FPS: Best for fast-moving content like gaming, requires more processing power and bandwidth
- 24 FPS: Cinematic feel, suitable for film-like content
Bitrate
Bitrate determines the amount of data used per second of video. Higher bitrates increase quality but require more upload bandwidth.
Resolution | Recommended Bitrate | Minimum Upload |
---|---|---|
720p/30fps | 3,000-4,500 Kbps | 5 Mbps |
720p/60fps | 4,500-6,000 Kbps | 7 Mbps |
1080p/30fps | 4,500-6,000 Kbps | 7 Mbps |
1080p/60fps | 6,000-9,000 Kbps | 12 Mbps |
Audio Settings
Audio Bitrate
Audio bitrate affects sound quality. Higher bitrates produce better sound but use more bandwidth.
- 128 Kbps: Minimum acceptable quality
- 160 Kbps: Good quality for most streams
- 192-320 Kbps: High quality, ideal for music or professional audio
Sample Rate
Sample rate determines audio fidelity and clarity.
- 44.1 kHz: Standard for most audio content
- 48 kHz: Recommended for streaming
Audio Channels
- Stereo (2 channels) - Recommended for most streams
- Mono (1 channel) - Uses less bandwidth, suitable for voice-only streams
Encoding Settings
Encoder Presets
Encoder presets balance between encoding quality and CPU usage. Faster presets require more CPU but less bandwidth, while slower presets use less CPU but more bandwidth.
Preset | CPU Usage | Stream Quality |
---|---|---|
Ultrafast | Lowest | Acceptable |
Veryfast | Low | Good |
Faster | Medium | Better |
Fast | High | Very Good |
Hardware Acceleration
Hardware encoding offloads stream processing from your CPU to your GPU, reducing CPU usage.
NVIDIA NVENC
- For NVIDIA GPUs
- Very low CPU usage
- Good quality with modern GPUs
AMD AMF
- For AMD GPUs
- Low CPU usage
- Decent quality, continuing to improve
